Dear Friend of the American Cancer Society,
We hope this finds you and your loved ones healthy! As you may already know, sadly, we will not be able to host our 33rd Annual American Cancer Society Moonlight Gala as planned due to the COVID-19 crisis. This was an incredibly difficult decision to make, but the safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff always comes first. Though we may not be able to see each other in person, we are pleased to share our 2020 Moonlight At Home opportunities that will directly support our mission.
We know how passionate you are about our mission and want to assure you that the American Cancer Society remains available to provide information, support, and guidance to patients and families 24 hours a day, seven days a week via our free helpline, 1-800-227-2345, and our website, cancer.org.
However, there is still much at risk, and we need your help. Without the generous support of our community, we face for the first time in our history, a dramatic research funding shortfall. We likely will need to reduce our allocated funding of research this fall by 50%. Most young investigators who go on to receive funding from the federal government, are first funded by the American Cancer Society. If we continue to fall short of our new adjusted goals, we could lose an entire generation of cancer researchers. We are doing everything in our power to make sure this doesn’t happen!
The American Cancer Society has several ways you can continue to support our mission during this vulnerable time:
Purchase a Moonlight At Home Package - Donations of $150 or more will receive a personal, contactless delivery, of wine with additional amenities
to enjoy for an evening of your choosing anytime in the month of September.
Sponsorship – If our sponsorship request from earlier this year is still within your budget, we kindly ask you continue with your planned sponsorship levels. Adjusted benefits are available, and we will also recognize our 2020 sponsors during next year’s event held at the Waterfront Estate of Joe Faso on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
Online Auction – During September 27th to October 2nd, we will be hosting an online auction through our website, www.MoonlightGala.org
Fund the Mission – Make a donation in the amount of your choosing to directly support our mission.
Follow us! – Follow, like, and share our Facebook posts at ACS Moonlight Gala Stockton Cancer doesn’t stop for a pandemic, and neither will we. Now more than ever, we are so grateful for the passion and dedication of our volunteers and supporters.
Thank you for your continued support of our mission and for all you are doing to help lead the fight for a world without cancer.
